It’s also important to consider the tax implications of property investment in Spain. Non-resident property owners must pay local property taxes as well as income tax on rental income. In 2022, Spain also introduced the Solidarity Tax for Great Fortunes that applies to residents and non-residents with “exceeding €3 million living in regions with significant wealth tax allowances or 100% exemption”.
